Day 1

I got a late start to the day, because I was out celebrating a friend's birthday.  So, on the way home I stopped by HyVee.  Sadly, there wasn't anyone there that I could approach.  So, I paid for my stuff and was on my way out, and wouldn't you know it, there were a few potential targets in the produce section that I could see as I was on my way out.  I guess the universe just wanted to eff with me a little bit.

I stopped off at home to drop off my groceries, since I had a few things that needed to be refrigerated.  I made my way to Target @ Hilldale, because that seems to be a good place to go if it's later in the evening.  I was throwing a hail mary, but I had hit the 2-minute warning and switched to my hurry-up offense.  While in Target, I wandered around a bit and eventually saw someone I could approach.  She was a young-looking Asian woman, kind of short and petite.  I approached her using my line of the day: "I think you're really cute."  She seemed to appreciate the compliment, and I went into asking her about herself.  She's a pharmacy student 2 years into her graduate degree.  We talked about yoga and Harry Potter.  I impressed her with my knowledge of Harry Potter, I think.  The conversation went really well, so I went for a number, but she said she had a boyfriend.  I told her that's cool, I just like making friends, but she said that she didn't think he would like that. Oh well, at least she was honest with me before giving me her number.

That's all for today, but at least I got my one in for the day.  Tomorrow, it will be a new opening.
