The phrase of the day was: "You look like someone I had to come talk to"
On the way home I hit up Metcalfe's over by West Towne. Yes, I know I hit the same places regularly, but considering I have limited time when I'm on-call, I need to go where I know I'll find women to approach. No time for any of that clever stuff. I saw a woman that looked nice, so I approached her. She said she was married. I totally missed the ring on her finger. However, as a sign of how far I've come, I didn't let it ruffle my feathers. Instead, I said "oh, that's cool, I just like meeting new people." We talked for a bit about how she's a special education major and how I used to teach for 3 years. It was a good conversation. I didn't try for the number, though.
I stopped off at home, changed into regular clothes, then walked over to HyVee. While there, I saw a woman that looked like she was around college age, so I approached her. I found out that she's studying business in college and had recently started selling Amway (oh, I don't think the poor girl knows what she's getting into with that!) I used that as my angle to get her number, since she was trying to recruit me to her "team." (Fat chance of that happening, but I will take your number, thank you!) Of course, with the promise of a new recruit, I was able to get her number, getting me back on track.
Two approaches for the day wasn't bad, considering my limited time.
