I didn't have a lot of time between work and running tonight, so I did one approach at Metcalfe's west towne. I told the woman that she looked friendly and introduced myself. I asked her what she did and she said that she was sorry, but she was in a hurry. I said, "oh, that's okay." I didn't really mind it, because I just had to get my approach in for the day, even if it didn't go anywhere.
Definitely not a banner day, but it's a testament to the power of framing this as a challenge, rather than being invested in the results: instead of being bummed that the interaction didn't go anywhere, I was just happy to take care of the challenge for the day. This is especially true on days when I just don't have much time to work with. It's all about perspective!
