I did two approaches today, keeping myself on track for 60 for the month. I also got my first ever approach at the Arboretum, which is something I wanted to do.
The first approach was at Metcalfe's. I saw this woman over in the produce section (this is a great place to find women, by the way. I'm not sure why, but the produce section of a grocery store will almost always have women in it during times when there's a decent amount of people in the store. Just an FYI for anyone that wants to do this.) I asked her what she did and found out that she just recently finished serving in the Peace Corps. I thought that was awesome, so I had to ask about that for a little bit. After talking for a bit, she said she had to go, and I needed to get going so that I could make it to the run, so I gave her a card and told her to look up the group. I hope that I get to hear more about her experiences in the Peace Corps, because it sounded like an awesome experience.
The second approach was at the Arboretum during a run. We made it to Mills St. and paused to wait for one of the runners and there was a woman there stretching at the bridge. I decide it would be a good opportunity to both do an approach and some street recruiting. So, I asked her if she'd be interested in running with a group and told her about it. She seemed pretty cool, so I hope she joins. Sadly, street recruiting almost never works out. I'm not sure why, but that's just the way it goes.
